Passionate about sustainable community building, I seek to bring together my experience in design, community engagement, and environmental education to shape spaces that foster conviviality, equitable use of resources, and a love of the natural world.

Associate Director of Community Engagement

Jan 2023 - Present

  • Directing the exhibit hall at a UC marine science center and aquarium
  • Executing a strategic vision centered on inclusivity and climate action
  • Creating exhibitions on climate solutions and conservation, including all project management, research, design, budget, fabrication, delegation, & maintenance
  • Stewarding academic and community partnerships to highlight in our exhibits
  • Contributing to high-level responsibilities that help keep the museum running, such as grant writing, hosting public events, volunteer engagement, etc.
  • Proposed & executed an initiative to make all signage bilingual (Eng. & Spanish)

  • Working with the Board and our new Executive Director to shape a new vision for the MAC, in order to make it a more inclusive community space and retreat center for exploring environmental and social activism through art
  • Working on grant-writing to fund new programming at the MAC, particularly initiatives that welcome and support queer and BIPOC artists

  • Played a key role in designing the masterplan and design principles for the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, which is now being executed by award-winning architecture firm Studio Gang
  • Developed urban/campus design principles and drawings for Stanford, multiple Google campuses, and the City of Rochester, Minnesota including the Mayo Clinic downtown campus.
  • Conducted field research on the use of public space, including a study of students’ sense of belonging across Stanford’s campus using a proprietary app
  • Led statistical analysis on field research data and transporation datasets
  • Made diagrams, renderings, maps, infographics, & other visual representations

  • Led a “Tri-Town Coalition” of three rural towns seeking to collaborate to build affordable housing while meeting each of the towns’ Comprehensive Plans
  • Hosted regular steering committee meetings with town and non-profit leaders, as well as monthly forums to update community members and hear their voices
  • Co-founded and coordinated a 70+ member mutual aid network for the first six months of the COVID pandemic/lockdown, providing groceries, tutoring, and other services to our rural neighbors

City Parks Project Manager

  • Conducted archival research to identify names of all victims of gun violence in New Haven, to be memorialized in a memorial park started by moms of victims
  • Led volunteer workdays to plant trees and remove invasive plants in city parks
